KMTC is Kenya's largest medical training institution, offering diploma and certificate courses in nursing, clinical medicine, pharmacy, and more. Applications go through the KUCCP portal alongside other university and TVET choices.

KCSE Minimum: C Plain
Most KMTC diploma courses require at least KCSE mean grade C. Competitive courses like Nursing and Clinical Medicine may need C+ or higher.
Subsidized Fees
Government-sponsored KMTC students pay KES 30,000–50,000 per year. HELB loans and bursaries can cover most or all of this cost.

KMTC Application Requirements
KCSE Certificate
Minimum mean grade C (plain) for diploma courses. Certificate courses require C-. You must have passed Biology, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics.
National ID
Valid Kenyan National ID. Your ID number must match the one on your KCSE registration.
Medical Fitness
Some KMTC courses require a medical fitness certificate. Nursing and Clinical Medicine applicants must pass a medical examination after provisional placement.
Good Conduct Certificate
Certificate of Good Conduct may be required for admission. KMTC takes discipline seriously — a clean record is important.
How to Apply for KMTC Through KUCCP
Pay the KUCCP application fee
Pay KES 1,500 through M-Pesa. Use Paybill 820201. The account number is your KCSE index plus your exam year. This is the standard KUCCP fee — KMTC does not charge a separate fee.
Log in to the KUCCP portal
Go to students.kuccps.net. Log in with your KCSE index number and the year you did the exam.
Select KMTC as your college
In the course selection area, browse by college. Pick "Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC)". You will then see all the KMTC courses available.
Pick your course and campus
Choose the KMTC course you want — for example, Diploma in Nursing. Then pick your preferred campus. Research the campus locations before you apply. Transferring between campuses later is difficult.
Submit and wait for results
Submit your full application. You can also add non-KMTC courses as backups. Placement results come out on the portal during the regular KUCCPS results release.
